The Story
UNO Showdown was released by Mattel in 2020 (with a later Amazon-exclusive "Showdown Supercharged" variant featuring different lights and sound effects). Certain cards trigger a "showdown" between two players, who race to slap their paddle first once a light turns green. Whoever discards their final card doesn't automatically win — they still have to win one last showdown to take the game.

Certain cards trigger a showdown between two players: both race to press their paddle first once the unit's light turns green, and the loser draws cards.
Final Showdown to Win
Playing your last card doesn't win the round by itself — you must also win one final showdown to be declared the winner.
